About Me

I am extremely privileged to have spent a great deal of time reading, traveling, and being outside, all of which have cultivated my imagination and desire to write novels. The last three+ years of my life have involved every kind of cancer treatment available including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and even a couple of clinical trials. As of June 2018 I'm on chemo awaiting the start of another clinical trial.

My interest in fantasy novels began when my oldest sibling read "The Hobbit" aloud to me at a very young age, and I have started writing several books in that genre over the years. I began writing about faith and cancer during my first year of treatment. I'm currently looking for a literary agent for "Cancer is not Evil," a book that is part-memoir, part-reflection on the nature of cancer, people, and God.

I'm also seeking a literary agent for the first installment of a five-book fantasy series. Think Redwall meets Game of Thrones, with underlying themes of relevant issues like misogyny and xenophobia.

Find a brief write-up on me in Cancer Today magazine here: http://www.cancertodaymag.org/Spring2017/Pages/In-The-Moment-Cancer-Survivors-Living-Beyond-Their-Diagnosis.aspx

I'd rather say something profound in an average way than say something average in a profound way.

  2. I have just stumbled upon you and your writing! I'm looking forward to reading your works~! I am a mother of a son a year older than you and I just want to take a minute and let you know from this mother's heart that you are, from this point on, going to be in my prayers daily. For strength, creativity and joy. For healing and the wisdom of great physicians. I will be reading and watching and praying.. :)
